Hi,
I have the following stored procedure
CREATE PROCEDURE SEARCH_CRUISE_DEBUG33(
)

CruiseId VARCHAR(10000)

Hi ,
I am new on Java Stored Procedure. Our application is a java based application connecting to progress DB.
Below is a sample of stored procedure we write. I want to set isolation level to Read Uncommitted. With out that, its creating share locks. Can any one tell me how to set isolation...
Dear RealHeavyDude,
Thank you for your replay.
Please note that, 4GLTrace value was not present in both of my DEV and Client Environments.
We had tried with this parameter in client envi , but it created trace for each and every internal programs getting called.
But in our DEV environment...
HI,
I am a junior progress resource.
In our development environment, in appserver log , we are getting entries like
AS AS Server Message state = MSGSTATE_INITRQ
AS AS Server Message state = MSGSTATE_RECVLAST
requestID= <REQ|2391c70de6acfedc:-4a57888b:13776dacd49:-7ff8-001267>
AS AS -- TRACE...
one doubt..
following is a small piece of code i found somewhere
DEFINE INPUT PARAMETER DATASET-HANDLE hdsQuery .
hdsQuery::tt-as-querydef:find-first().
if hBuffer::myFiled is the shortcut of hbuffer:BUFFER-FIELD ( 'myField' ):BUFFER-VALUE then...
Help need on colon "::"
Hai,
Can you help me whats the meaning of using ::
Can you please tell any pdf or something where i can get more information on it.
I have seen in some places its used like
Prodataset-handle::buffer-handle.
Hai,
I need to find the number of records in a buffer which satisfies a given where condition.
for example :
i have a query
h_query:query-prepare("for each compinv").
i need to find the number of records.. There is a function called h_query:num-results.but this needs the query to be opened...
Hai,
I got a temp-table t-t1 and t-t2. both having similar signature.
now t-t1 has one record and t-t2 has another record.
i want to write a for each statement such that it will fetch record from t-t1 and then from t-t2.
Is this possible to do without copying data from both to one temp-table.?
Hai,
Is there anyway to get the primary unique key of a buffer from its handle.
there is a statement like
hbuff:index-information(i).
but that gives information of all the indexes for different values of i. but that is a over load as i have to loop through it.
is there any easier way? it...
Thanks RealHeavyDude for your advice. I will try using the NO-error statement.
I got one more doubt.
This is reguarding the set-call-back procedure "before-row-fill".
Is it possible by anymeans to prevent the fill of current row and go to the next row buy some coding in the before-row-fill...
Hai
RealHeavyDude,
The reason why i want to know whether it is passed as by-reference or not is to delete that object in the called procedure.
if it is passed by-reference then the statement
delete object h-data will fail.so what i am intenditing to do is an if check before delete object.
hai,
Is there anyway to identify whether a temp-table or dataset is passed as by-reference to the called procedure, from the called procedure...
For example...
run test.p(input dataset d-data by-reference).
/* prodecure test.p) */
input parameter dataset-handle h-data).
i want to know...
Thanks RealHeavyDude... i know the dynamic thing u where telling and it is not one line.. what i was trying to find is whether there is in-build progress function which does this. :)
What i am expecting is...first i assigned
v-where = "tbprihdr.price-id = 1234".
then i am finding fbprihdr where price-id = 1234.
so now the value of fbprihdr.price-id is 1234.
now what i want is a way to check whether the record i found now is satisfying the condition i gave in variable...
Hai,
I am a beginner in progress.. Please help me in following situation.
define variable v-where as char.
assign v-where = "tbprihdr.price-id = 1234".
find first tbprihdr where price-id = 1234.
message price-id. /* the record is available in buffer. */
if v-where then message...
Thank you RealHeavyDude,Thank you tamhas for your help.I tried with shared buffer and it worked. my intention is to pass the data to a generic routine,which is getting called by lot of programs,so changing the paramter is a big work for me.
Hai,
