If I'm reading your issue correctly, Oracle (via HSODBC) is the data consumer, and Progress is the data source. The rest of this response depends on that...
There are some configuration options which may make sense to adjust, at several layers (Progress startup options, OpenLink Database Agent...
Hi
As you can make a connection to your Progress database using the OpenLink provided test program (iodbctest) your OpenLink ODBC configuration is setup correctly. The error message suggests that the ODBC DSN specified in your Oracle HSODBC configuration file (inithsodbc.ora) cannot be found...
Hi
The DLC and PROCFG variables would be set on the client side machine where the OpenLink Single-Tier Progress ODBC Driver and Progress client networking software are installed.

Well... Progress v8 (and previous) SQL-89 was very much not ANSI SQL-89, and that certainly let to difficulties, but they weren't tied to ODBC, per se.

Hi
Looking at the error you report this may be due to your Progress DLC and PROCFG environment variables not being set, thus I would suggest these are set system wide on your machine such that they are picked up by all applications.
Should you still continue to have problems I would suggest...
Hi Mike,
What is the specific issue you are encountering as their are a number of issues to take into consideration ?
In theory any ODBC application should work with any ODBC Driver Manager and any ODBC Driver, but unfortunately particularly on Unix where a number for ODBC Driver Managers...

Hello,
Are you using the DataDirect, OpenLink, or another driver?
If you are using our driver, we can post very explicit directions on how to configure the actual DSN.
